On Friday morning, December 13, the Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (NWMMSDC) held its Year-End Meeting at the DoubleTree Hotel, bringing together minority-owned businesses and corporate members for a reflective and forward-looking discussion about successes, challenges, and opportunities.

The event featured impactful speeches from NWMMSDC’s CEO and President, Karla Malacon; Manager of Operations, Huda Al-Musawi; Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Grayson Martin; Project Coordinator, Kahdijah Lozada; Marketing and Communications Manager, Chiara Brinkmann; and former CEO Fernando Martinez. Together, they shared key achievements of the past year and unveiled exciting initiatives for the year ahead, including the upcoming “Unleash Your Voice” series with Chief of Happiness, Brooklyn Dicent – an empowering program is designed to help minority-owned business owners elevate their storytelling and business rhetoric.

Some Key Highlights of 2024:

  • 14% increase in newly certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) compared to 2023.
  • In 2023, our MBEs achieved an aggregate revenue of $10,406,089,679.
  • NWMMSDC MBEs employ over 57,289 people, with 21,805 roles filled by minorities.
  • 54% growth in website page views, alongside a remarkable 188% increase in average session duration.
