Who Qualifies for MBE Certification?
To qualify for MBE certification, your business must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- U.S. Citizenship
The owner or majority owner must hold U.S. citizenship. - Headquartered in the United States or Its Territories
Your business must be physically headquartered within the United States or its territories to qualify for certification. - At Least 51% Ethnic Minority-Owned
The business must be at least 51% owned by individuals who identify as one or more of the following:
> Hispanic American
> Native American
> Asian/Pacific American
> Asian Indian American - For-Profit Business
The business must operate on a for-profit basis, demonstrating the ability to generate revenue and contribute to the economy. - Ownership, Operation, and Control
The minority owner(s) must own, operate, control, and manage the daily operations of the business to demonstrate active participation in its success. - Submission of All Required Documents
Applicants must submit all required documentation to verify eligibility. The NWMMSDC, as per the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), reserves the right to request additional information or documentation to confirm eligibility.
